Workcations

This can’t be surprising:

74% of Americans who are working from home said they’d consider taking a workcation, per Harris Poll data reported by Axios.

I supposed I’ve taken a “workcation” even if I didn’t think of it as that at the time. Independent workers don’t have the benefit of PTO — it’s a trade off of being a freelancer — so it’s not unusual for those like me to slip the laptop in a bag and bring work along for the ride.

For the last 12 months, we’ve all gotten used to being, if possible, more available to clients, bosses and work colleagues. As this article points out, it’s going to be tough for people to fully disconnect from work unless they have managers that insist they do so.

And these same managers need to do so themselves.
